Hellooooo everyone!! So, there's this concert coming up. Don't know if you've heard of it or not...but, ummmm, Sanctus Real and The Afters are coming to Charleston. Just so you know. ;-) We are SO excited about this!!!!!!!! For realz!!!!!! Oh, and, there will be an awesomely amazing special host that night. None other than Wally!! Heck yes! Wally will be hosting the concert that night! The concert is a special concert for Compassion International. If you don't know about Compassion International, you should. Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Hey everyone! Are you enjoying the morning today? Yes, it's a bit gloomy, but it also could give you a warm, cozy feeling. This is the kind of weather that makes me want to stay in my room, with a good cup of coffee and a very good book to read. :-)

So, you want to know what's coming up this month? I'll tell you what's coming up this month! Have you ever heard of the organization, Operation Christmas Child? It's pretty awesome. It is sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, and what Operation Christmas Child does is they basically give presents to children all around the world who are in need. These presents are created by you and are delivered in shoeboxes! All you need to do is to gather small toys and items suitable for children (no toy guns, knives, or war-like items please!), put them in the shoebox, and deliver the shoebox to your church or another drop-off location. Chick-Fil-A will be a drop-off spot for shoeboxes until November 17. And if you drop your shoebox at Chick-Fil-A you will receive a coupon for a free chicken sandwich! There are other specifics about the shoeboxes though. Here's a list for you:
TOYS
small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch®, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky®, etc.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc.

Heyhey everybody! Okay, so here is a little update about what is going on with WAY-FM, in case you didn't know already....

THIS FRIDAY, OCT. 8, we will be at Health Works in Summerville, from 9am-11am, giving you a chance to get to know Dr. Jeff Kraichely! The address is 713 Central Ave. We will have our PRIZE WHEEL, so you can win lots of cool prizes, including CHRIS TOMLIN CONCERT TICKETS!!! A little word of encouragement...

Have you ever lost someone that you loved? Recently, I've been hearing of people losing their loved ones, and I know how devastating it can be. Just know that God is right there with you through this terrible time, and He actually does know what you're going through. There are several Christian music artists who understand this pain too, and they have written songs to help others with this kind of heartbreak too, two of them are Jeremy Camp and Steven Curtis Chapman.

Jeremy Camp wrote "Walk by Faith" and "I Still Believe" during his first wife's battle with cancer and death.

Steven Curtis Chapman tragically lost his five-year-old daughter Maria in 2008 in a terrible accident. Chapman has written several songs abut his family's loss on his newest album "Beauty Will Rise".

Chasen's song "Airplanes" is written by Chasen Callahan as he dealt with the loss of a friend. Here is their song, "Airplanes" from youtube.

So, first things first, have you heard the new cd "Light Up The Sky" by the Afters yet? Dear goodness, if you haven't yet, then go check it out!!! Their newest single, the title track, "Light Up The Sky" is just simply phenomenal. These guys just keep outdoing themselves, I tell you.

Speaking of new albums, check out Jeremy Camp's newest album, "We Cry Out: The Worship Project", Sanctus Real's "Pieces of a Real Heart", Jason Gray's "Everything Sad is Coming Untrue", Manafest's "The Chase", and Group 1 Crew's "Spacebound EP". Hey guys, Intern Stone here. The summer hasn't even begun yet and there's all kinds of awesome stuff coming up. This past weekend Needtobreathe had two concerts at the Music Farm and from what I heard both shows were pretty epic! This friday is easily going to be just as epic as this past weekend thanks to Casting Crowns and Tenth Avenue North performing at the North Charleston Coliseum. Not only that, but we're having a fun game of Radioke before the doors open and the winner gets not only a free pair of tickets, but also backstage passes! So warm up those vocal chords and get ready to belt out some of your favorite wayfm songs!

What's up? Well, as the blog post title says, this one is all about concerts. There are a good number of concerts coming up that you may not be aware of!

NEEDTOBREATHE will be at the Charleston Music Farm this Saturday (4/17) and Sunday (4/18)! Tickets are $18 at the door. The show starts at 8:30pm. Be aware, though, the Music Farm has a bar inside, so there is a $3 surcharge for under-age customers. WayFM is not sponsoring this event, and we won't be there as a radio station. Chasen Freebie!!!

Hey guys, Intern Stone here. Just thought I'd let you all know that Chasen is currently being featured as their "Discovery Download". This means that if you go into itunes and look at their free to download section, you'll be able to download their song "Castaway". You will need to have an account with itunes in order to download it, but they are free and if you go to the itunes website you can find instructions on how to get an account without having to give any credit card information or anything like that. In the free download section they do also have free to download episodes of some tv programs, behind the scenes specials for some tv shows and movies, they usually also have something similar to their "Discovery Download" that just features music videos. So if you haven't gotten an account with itunes yet, the free Chasen download is a really good excuse to do so.

The temperatures are warming up, the skies are clearing, the noisy canadian geese and flying back up north, and the flowers are well in bloom. That means that it is once again time for the Flowertown Festival in Summerville, South Carolina. Of course, what's a big social function without the one and only 100.9 Way-FM there, but we need your help. We're going to be there all weekend long: Friday and Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 9am to 4pm; and we need help with running the table.

So, I have to ask. Do you think you could handle hanging out with a bunch of radio folks sometime this weekend and have a blast at the Flowertown Festival?

Faith & Fun Night pt. 3

Haha, Intern Stone was right, Faith & Fun Night was a total blast! This is Intern Anna and I was able to be at the concert and work the merch. table. Group 1 Crew was a very lively bunch. Their energy and emotion they put into their songs and performances is fantastic. They are also very friendly people. :-) And don't even get me started on the merchandise table! We sold out of all the cd's G1C brought AND we sold out of their posters long before the line for meet & greet died down. It was a huge chaotic mess, but everyone had a lot of fun! Group 1 Crew's concert is definitely a great concert to be at. If you missed it, make sure you catch them next time they are in town!

So, what's new? Well, if you haven't heard it, the Charleston Battery soccer season is well under-way. WAY-FM has attended a few games live, and boy, we have a lot of fun! We like to give away tickets to the games, so keep up with our facebook to see when we give tickets away. There's a game tomorrow, March 20 at 5pm. We hope you go and supprt the Battery!

Have you heard of Fireflight? They are the band in our music spotlight right now. If you haven't heard of them by now, we are very surprised. This band is on the road right now with the WinterJam tour spectacular. They've had quite a few singles on the radios, including "Unbreakable" and their latest, "Desperate". The band consists of Dawn Michele, Justin Cox, Wendy Drennen, Glenn Drennen, and Rob Hawkins. Wow...Intern Stone here, unfortunately I had to miss the Faith and Fun night with the Stingrays and Group One Crew, but from everyone's been saying, it sounds like it was a great time! I'm posting a few pictures that some of you took while at the concert. Special thanks to the Stingrays for hosting Faith and Fun night and to Group One Crew for coming out.

What is Faith & Fun Night? It's a night where family and friends can get together for a Stingrays hockey game AND a concert with Dove-award winning hip-hop band, Group 1 Crew! We're really excited about and we hope that you are too! Faith & Fun Night will take place on March 13 at the North Charleston Coliseum. The hockey game (Kelly Cup Champions, South Carolina Stingrays vs. the Florida Everblades)will start at 5pm and the concert with Group 1 Crew will follow when the game is finished. Hope to see you there!!

For fans of Matthew West, he just recently filmed the music video for his single "Save A Place For Me" on his latest record "Something To Say". West is really excited about the video because he wanted it to portray the emotion and story of the song, and he thinks that is exactly what the video does. West also shares a link on his website to another website people can go to so they can share their story on why the song has so much meaning to them. Snowfest!

Hey everybody! We hope you had fun at WinterJam! We definitely had a blast. :-) Well, if you're looking for some MORE fun, there's a pretty awesome event going on this weekend! SNOWFEST 2010 is taking place tomorrow, Feb. 20, at Faith Assembly in Summerville from 10am-3pm. SnowFest is an event that will have live entertainment, inflatables, a snow pit, and an 8-foot-tall snow slide! Here's the ticket prices: $2 for General Admission, $6 (early) for the snow, and $8 at the gate. All proceeds from SnowFest 2010 are going to go to the Haiti Earthquake Disaster Relief fund! You will also need money for food, beverages, smores kits, facepainting, and there will also be donation collections going on for Haiti. SnowFest is going to be awesome and we hope to see you there!!

There's one more event you need to be aware of! On March 13, Group 1 Crew will be in concert at the North Charleston Coliseum after the Stingrays Hockey game for Way-Fm's Faith & Fun Night! The game is at 5pm against the Florida Everblades, and the concert will follow immediately after! Tickets prices are: Riser-$20, Lower Level-$17, Upper Level- $12

WinterJam 2010 is coming to North Charleston! We've already let you know about what's going on, but we're so excited about it, we're posting a blog post all about it!
So, what is WinterJam? It's a "spectacular" concert that tours around the country during the winter months! It's hosted by NewSong and has been in existence for a little more than 10 years! Christian artists from all over, including TobyMac, Matthew West, Hawk Nelson, Brandon Heath, Francesca Batistelli, and Building 429 (just to name a few of them)have been involved with Winter Jam. It's truly an amazing show! So, this year, in case you haven't heard (we can't imagine how you haven't!), the artist line-up is, needless to say, amazing! Third Day will be there, as well as the Nesboys (who have been at Winterjam before), Tenth Avenue North, and Fireflight! Also, a pre-jam party will take place at 5:20pm, with newcomer artists like Sidewalk Prophets, Robert Pierre, and Revive! Plus, Tony Nolan (who has also been with Winter Jam previously) will be the guest speaker!! If you've never been to Winter Jam before, this is the year to go! :-) It will be at the North Charleston Coliseum on Feb. 14, and the doors open at 5pm! The pre-jam session starts at 5:20, and the lights go down for the show at 6pm! And, guess what? Tickets are only $10 at the door!!! How cool is that? So, we hope to see you there! Ok, guys. We have SO much going on and we are so excited about it! There are so many events coming up and we really hope to see you at one if not all of them! :-)
Alright so to start it off, we're going to give you the rundown of concerts coming up! We hope you've heard already, but if you haven't, WINTERJAM IS COMING!!!!!!! Are you as excited about it as we are?? There are going to be quite a few artists coming like, Third Day, Newsboys, NewSong, Tenth Avenue North, and Fireflight and guest speaker, Tony Nolan! The concert is on Feb. 14 (Valentine's Day! Bring your sweetheart!!!) doors open at 5pm, the show starts at 6pm, and the price is only $10 at the door at the North Charleston Coliseum! Oh, and you don't want to miss the pre-jam party with Sidewalk Prophets, Robert Pierre, and Revive! The pre-jam party is scheduled to start at 5:20pm! Are you gonna be there? It'll be a lot of fun!

Did you go to the concert last Wednesday? It was A-mazing! Jeremy Camp, The Afters, Chasen, and Jason Gray were all very very awesome. If you were able to go, we hope you had a great time! Also, we hope you were able to attend Healthy Wealthy Wise 2010! There were so many opportunities there for living a better year this year!

Remember that Winterjam is coming up! It will be on Feb. 14 and there will be so many rockin' bands, it will knock your socks off! The cost is only $10 at the door, and stay tuned for more info!

Jason Gray is COMING!!!!

Hello everyone! So, you've heard about Jeremy Camp, Chasen, The Afters, and now it's time for you to get to know a little about Jason Gray.

"One of the first things you should know about me is that I suffer from a speech handicap known as stuttering. But instead of it being a liability, I've found it to be a great asset in the work I do." -Jason Gray (from his myspace page)

Jason Gray is grew up in Minnesota and was involved in youth ministry before he became a music artist. Jason is not only a Christian music singer, her is also an avid volunteer and promoter of World Vision's Hope Initiative, which helps children who were orphaned because of their parents dying of AIDS in Africa. He has had a few albums released, including "The Singer & The Song", "A Place Called Hope", "The Better Part Of Me", "All The Lovely Losers", and the most recent, "Everything Sad Is Coming Untrue".

We hope to see you at the concert to hear not only the well-known artists, but also less-known, but equally awesome Jason Gray!

Remember that the concert is at 7pm and doors open at 6pm at Faith Assembly on Jan 20! Also, we need your help unloading and loading stuff before & after the concert. If you are interested, please let us know! You'll get into the concert for free for helping us!

The Afters is COMING!!!

Wow, Intern Stone here, I don't know if you've been outside yesterday or today, but the weather is awesome! Not really hot, not cold, but plenty of sun. On top of all that, we're having our first concert of the year this week and I am totally stoked about that.

So we've heard some about Jeremy Camp, and some about Chasen, so here's some info that you might not know about The Afters.

The Afters started up in Mesquite, Texas where lead vocalist Josh Havens and vocalist/guitarist Matt Fuqua worked together at a Starbucks and planned on putting a band together. They recruited Marc Dodd and Brad Wigg and began touring under the name "Blisse". They changed their name to "The Afters" once they realized there was an other band also going by "Blisse".

They signed to INO Records around 2002 and released their debut album "I Wish we all Could Win". The first single from the album, "Beautiful Love" won a "Streaming Woodie" award from MTVu and was used for the theme song to "8th and Ocean" and was also featured in the movie "Just My Luck".

In 2006, they released their latest album, "Never Going Back to OK". The first single from this album, also called "Never Going Back to OK" was first released on Total Axxess with Wally back in 2007 and R&R magazine ranked it as the most played song on U.S. Christian CHR radio in 2008.

They've also released a number of other singles that are also quite good. Among them are "Myspace Girl" and the single for this video, "Ocean Wide".

Chasen is COMING!!!

Ok, so we just gave you a little info about Mr. Camp, and now it's time for a little get-to-know-Chasen time! Chasen is a band from Greenville, SC (yeah, they're natives of the great SC!). The band consists of frontman Chasen Callahan on guitar & vocals, Evan Silver on guitar & background vocals, Aaron Lord on drums, and Jared Barber on bass and background vocals. Callahan got started in music as a worship pastor at his church and also playing at camps and conferences. After going through temporary band members, Callahan joined forces with Silver and Lord. In 2009, Barber joined the bunch!
Chasen has had a few hit singles on the radio, "Drown", "Crazy Beautiful", and the newest, "On and On". Callahan writes songs from his own experiences as well as experiences from friends, family, and collaborations with others.
The concert is at Faith Assembly in Summerville on Jan. 20 at 7pm (doors open at 6!). We need your help, though. We need volunteers to help set up and take down equipment and such before and after the concert. If you would like to help us out (which we would appreciate ever so much!) just email us, facebook us, and/or call us! Hey guys! The Jeremy Camp - The Afters - Chasen - Jason Gray concert is quickly approaching. So, since this concert is coming up, we're gonna let you know a little bit about the artists every so often (in case you didn't know about them....), starting with Jeremy Camp!
Jeremy has had sixteen #1 singles, five Dove Awards, three ASCAP Writer of the Year awards, and an AMA nomination. Some of his songs include "I Still Believe", "Walk By Faith", "Take You Back", "Lay Down My Pride", "This Man", "There Will Be A Day", "Speaking Louder Than Before", and a ton more!

2010 is well upon us!

Well, here we are now in 2010. School's resumed, work's resumed, and we're back into the humdrum of normal life; but this isn't going to be your typical January.

Way-FM Charleston has some killer events coming up and we really don't want you to miss out!

First of all, this Thursday Night at Regal Cinemas in North Charleston there's going to be a free pre-release screening of "To Save a Life". Don't miss out on this, guys.

Then, Saturday we're having a live remote from 10am to 1pm at Millie Lewis for the last day of their special 2 for 1 deal. So come on out, hang out with us, and see what's up with Millie Lewis' 2 for 1 special.

January 20 at Faith Assembly in Summervile is the "Speaking Louder than Before" tour with Jeremy Camp, The Afters, Chasen, and Jason Gray. Simply Epic.

Hey guys, Intern Stone here, racking my brains trying to figure out something I can talk about on here that's relevant to the time of year. So then it occurs to me "Christmas Trivia". So here goes, a list (in no particular order) of at least somewhat interesting facts that are connected to the Christmas story.

1. The Magi were a hereditary priesthood who studied Astronomy, Astrology, Politics, Philosophy, and other Sciences. The prophet Daniel was made chief of this priesthood by order of Cyrus the Great (hence the whole deal with Daniel being thrown to the lions).

2. In the Ukraine, if you find a spider web in the house on Christmas morning, it is believed to be a harbinger of good luck! There once lived a woman so poor, says a Ukrainian folk tale, that she could not afford Christmas decorations for her family. One Christmas morning, she awoke to find that spiders had trimmed her children’s tree with their webs. When the morning sun shone on them, the webs turned to silver and gold. An artificial spider and web are often included in the decorations on Ukrainian Christmas trees. (www.theholidayspot.com)

3. England has only known seven white Christmases in the entire twentieth century. According to the records of the Meteorological Office in London, snow fell on Christmas Day only in 1938 and 1976.(The definition of a white Christmas in England is when one snowflake falls on the roof of the London Weather Centre in the 24 hours of 25 December.)

The last time they had a White Christmas with snow falling across the UK was 2004, although large parts of the southeast England missed significant falls. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are more likely to have a white Christmas than England.

4. St Francis of Assisi introduced Christmas Carols to formal church services.

The word comes from the ancient Greek 'choros', which means "dancing in a circle", and from the Old French word carole, meaning "a song to accompany dancing".

Battery to host Holiday Camp - Date 12-28-2009

The Charleston Battery will host a holiday soccer camp December 28th - 30th at the Battery's new Battery practice facility inside Blackbaud Stadium. The camp is designed for boys and girls ages 7 - 14 to help develop the fundamental techniques of soccer in a fun learning environment. Full day campers will receive lunch daily. Who likes Tobymac? We do! And if you do too, here's something cool that we just got word of. Tobymac and his wife, Amanda are raising money for New Hope Academy, a school that is truly living in diversity. This year, Toby held a run called "Run For Hope". They raised $5,000 for the school. They're holding the run again in April 2010. The run will take place in Nashville, TN! Toby's training for it (that's right, he's running the marathon with everyone!) and wants to welcome everyone of you to participate!

So, the Grammys are coming up. There's quite a few Christian artists up for nominations! Jeremy Camp is up for Best Pop/ Contemporary Gospel Album for "Speaking Louder Than Before". Third Day is nominated for Best Gospel Performance and Best Gospel Song for their song "Born Again". Leeland is up for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for "Love Is On The Move". Decyfer Down is nominated for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album for "Crash". Francesca Batistelli has been nominated for Best Gospel Performance for "Free To Be Me". The Grammys will air at 8pm on Jan. 31st on CBS.

Hey folks, this is Intern Stone. I couldn't help but to chime in since Intern Charles was talking about Winter Jam. As it just so happens, Winter Jam is coming to the North Charleston Coliseum in February with a great lineup. But I digress, we have other great events even closer on the calendar.

How about that DecembeRadio concert coming up this saturday? I've had the pleasure of seeing them a couple of times live and they've always had a great concert. T Culler's got a good track record too and I'm really looking forward to checking out Sevenglory.

And then there's all the wonderful Christmas Parades coming up. In particular Way-FM is going to be in the Mt. Pleasant Christmas Parade. I'm pretty stoked about that because it's usually at night so all the floats have awesome Christmas Light decorations.

Winter Wonder Slam!

It seems for the past couple year TobyMac has put together a show known as Winter Jam with some popular artist. These things are amazing! There's always a great combination of artist and great merch tables. Intern Charles here and I love Winter Jam. I saw this show only once, but I wish I didn't miss the ones previous. The show was loud, flashy, and just plan fun. I went with my youth group expect just a normal concert setup but this is something different. It's so hard to describe how cool this show is, you just have to be there. The year I went there was Tobymac, Francesca, Brandon Heathe, Hawk Nelson, and Stephanie Smith.

Oh, funny story. I was walking around USC's basketball stadium and I was helping someone in my youth group get a CD. Well as I was waiting for them to get a CD, I turn around and saw Jason Dun (singer of Hawk Nelson). I turned around and shook his hand and asked if he was doing alright. He replied, "Yeah, I'm doing great! Nice to meet you but I got to get to my table." He then pushed through a crowd of people and hugged a girl wearing his shirt. The funniest thing was she didn't realize who she hugged until after he walked and freaked out.

Anyways I digress, but I encourage anyone who can to go see winter jam. Take the youth group or a group of friends. It's a lot of fun, the link for info is on the title of this blog so just click it.

On Thanksgiving Day, Steven Curtis Chapman will be on Larry King Live on CNN at 8pm. It should be interesting to see him. He'll be discussing the past 18 months since the passing os his daughter, Maria, with King and he'll perform his newest song, "Heaven is the Face".

In addition to all the new Christmas albums coming out (33 Miles, Family Force 5), Aaron Shust is relasing his Christmas EP. The album will include songs like "Silent Night" and "God Has Come To Earth".

Francesca Batistelli's newest song, "It's Your Life" has been featured on the preview commercial for TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8". The preview was for the final episode. The episode aired a few nights ago, but may be on again if you're a "Jon & Kate" fan and missed it.

Hey guys, this is Intern Stone. I just got done reading an interesting article in a magazine about Mat Kearney.

From what the article said, Mat Kearney didn't start out having aspirations of being a professional musician, but was instead planning on going into photography and cinematography. It wasn't until one summer break he left for Nashville to record some demos and while he was there things just seemed to click for him. He even said in the article "...it wasn't a career choice. It was a passion thing."

His story reminds me a lot of the directions that my own life has taken. When I first got into college I was planning on becoming a biochemist, but after a few years that direction changed and now I'm going into radio broadcasting as well as high school education.

So, what's going on in the music world? We've got some stories for you! There is an interview with Jon Foreman of Switchfoot by Causecast Music. Foreman talks about music, causes, and other issues.

The Afters are now in the studio working their third album. Their first two albums, "I Wish We All Could Win" and "Never Going Back To Ok" were pretty awesome, so we're looking forward to the release of that cd, no news yet though on when it's set to be released.

The American Music Awards are coming up on Nov. 22, and Brandon Heath, Jeremy Camp, and Mary Mary are nominees! To vote for the awards show, go to abc.com and follow the link to vote!

Small Christian Group Famous?

Intern Chuck here. That's right. A sister duo makes it big on youtube, and their names are Hilly and Hannah Hindy. The videos are clean and have good humor along with great acting and talent. I wonder if they thought they would come this far? I'm not sure but they know God has blessed them with talent and they are using it for good clean entertainment. They use popular movie characters and puts their spin on them. Their Twilight parody is their biggest hit with over 1 million views within a short time. Personal favorite though is The Dark Knight video, awesome video! But all their videos are great, don't know of one I didn't like! Give them a look by clicking the blog title and you'll see their main site. Not much to say besides these girls are amazing and very talented. I'll keep them in my prayers that they can grow and maybe make their own full length movies! A lot goes into making a film; I know from personal experience. Two young ladies with a heart for God, and amazing film talent. It's awesome to see. Keep it up girls!

Wassup, Lowcountry? It's Wednesday and that means you get to hear (uh...read?) what's up with WAYFM and the rest of the world today! For starters, the Battle of the Bands at Chick-Fil-A of Summerville is happening THIS SATURDAY at 5pm! The contestants will be: Unmasked, Craig Burden, Uprising, and Megan Danielle. Also, the Decemberadio, Sevenglory, and T. Culler concert is coming up on Dec. 5 and will be at Northwood Baptist Church, and hopefully you're getting really excited about that!

Today is Veteran's Day. We would like to thank all who have dedicated and given their lives for our country. Do you know a Vet.? Remember to thank them, and have a Happy Veteran's Day!

As you probably know, American Idol's Kris Allen has recently released his first single, "Live Like We're Dying". The single has been a huge hit. Now, Danny Gokey is in the studio, working on his album that is set to be released next year. He has a single titled "If Only" that should be released on Dec. 15.

It's already November, and soon people will begin to break out the Christmas music (if they haven't already!). A few artists are releasing some Christmas albums this year, including the Katinas, Sonicflood, Chris Tomlin, Family Force Five, and Mark Harris. Those should be amazing! Also, Matthew West and Amy Grant teamed up to record a Christmas song for the new Veggie Tales movie, "St. Nicholas- A Story of Joyful Giving". The song is titled "Give This Christmas Away" and is set as the theme song for the movie.

Never Heard of Decemberadio?

Well it's time to get acquainted! Decemberadio is a Rock/pop American band based out of Virginia. Their rocking and energetic style of music catch the ear of many and presents the message in a new way. The band was nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album and earned the group four Dove Award nominations, including nods in the Best New Artist category and Song of the Year for "Drifter." That night the band claimed their first Dove Award when DecembeRadio was honored for Rock Album of the Year, an impressive feat for a new band. Through all this their love for God has grown knowing that He blessed them with talent to help impact people and turn to God. Last Nights Concert

Last night Leeland, Brandon Heath, and Francesca Battistelli performed at Cathedral of Praise and put on an amazing show! It was loud and packed with worship, you could feel the love through out the room. Who knew Cathedral of Praise had a coffee shop?! But I'm sure the crowd enjoyed some coffee/milk shakes and then an amazing concert. Too bad I didn't get a chance to get a mocha!

Before the show I talked to Brandon for a moment and he was talking about how much he enjoyed Downtown Charleston and it's views. So no worries everyone, he said he would definitely have to come back! Oh! The meet and greet was awesome too, everyone got pictures and met their favorite artist before the show. After the show the front room was packed with eager fans to sign their stuff. The show was so awesome my thoughts are in a loop still! If you missed this one be sure to look out for tickets for the next concert in December with Decemberadio, T culler, and Sevenglory!

Okay, so it's time for another "good news" article! No bad, scary news; the comforting, good news! Apparently, Maj. Ben Dennis, a U.S. Marine, became close friends with a dog he met while stationed in Iraq. The dog and man quickly became attached with a very strong bond. Every time Dennis had to leave the fort where "Nubs" (the dog was named that because of his ears, which had been cut down by an Iraqi soldier to make the dog look tough) was, Nubs followed until he couldn't any longer. When Dennis would return to the fort, Nubs greeted him happily. The two went through a lot together, Dennis taking care of Nubs when the dog was hurt, and Nubs helping Dennis "patrol" the area. Eventually, Dennis had to leave again, but this time, Nubs followed him all the way (70 MILES!!!) to a different camp. Through a series of fundraising and whatnot, Dennis was able to send the dog to his friends and family in America and followed a month later. An elderly lady did her shopping and, upon returning to her car, found four males in the act of leaving with her car. She dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream at them at the top of her voice, "I have a gun and I know how to use it!

Get out of the car you dirty rotten scoundrels!"

The four men didn't wait for a second invitation but got out and ran like mad, whereupon the lady, somewhat shaken, proceeded to load her shopping bags into the back of the car and got into the driver's seat.

She was so shaken that she could not get her key into the ignition. She tried and tried and then it dawned on her why. A few minutes later she found her own car parked four or five spaces farther down. She loaded her bags into her car and drove to the police station.

The sergeant to whom she told the story nearly tore himself in two with laughter and pointed to the other end of the counter, where four pale white males were reporting a car jacking by a mad elderly woman described as white, less than 5' tall, glasses, and curly white hair carrying a large handgun.

No charges were filed.

It is so hard to believe that it is already November. There is so much going on! We want to remind everybody of the Brandon Heath, Leeland, and Francesca Batistelli concert coming up THIS WEDNESDAY at Cathedral of Praise. It should be a really amazing concert along with some really amazing worship time with our God! Also, remember that the contestants for The Battle of the Bands will be announced today! The Battle will be on Nov. 14 at 5pm at the Chick-Fil-A of Summerville. The winner of The Battle will receive an awesome Grand Prize that may knock your socks off!
So, has anyone else been seeing Christmas commercials already? It's crazy to think that it's getting to be about that time. Honestly, though, were they out this early last year? It's not even Thanksgiving yet! We can't forget the wonderful time we have at Thanksgiving. All the food and fellowship with family and friends. I love Thanksgiving with my family. We like to deep-fry our turkey, and in my opinion, that is the best way to cook a turkey. I do believe that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. What's your favorite holiday?

Alrighty, so we know that everyone gets tired of hearing bad news going on in the world, so here's a little bit of good news about a very honorable, respectul guy. His name is Brad Gaines. He played football for Vanderbilt in 1989. During the homecoming game that year, he collided with Chucky Mullins. Mullins' neck was broken, but Gaines got up without a scratch. Gaines visited Mullins in the hospital, where Mullins told Gaines it wasn't his fault about the accident. Gaines continued to visit Mullins until two years later, when Mullins died because of a blood clot in his lung. And now, Gaines visits Mullins' grave 3 times a year to clean it up, clear the weeds, talk, and pray. Gaines claims that he will do that til the day he dies. Boeing in Charleston

Piecing together Boeing Co.'s 787 Dreamliner airplane is a task that will require thousands of local workers. And throughout the economic recession, the number of out-of-work South Carolinians who have manufacturing skills but can't find a job has swelled.
So how can people apply for the estimated 3,800 jobs that could be created during the next few years?
While the facility won't open until July 2011, company officials will begin training workers well before that point, local Boeing spokeswoman Candy Eslinger said. She did not know when the company will advertise the first positions, which will be posted on www.boeing.com/employment.
"Obviously there's no jobs posted right now," she said, "but we will be hiring in the thousands."
Tim Coyle, vice president of Boeing Charleston, would not say how many hires will be local residents, but said the labor force should include a "fair amount" of employees from Charleston and from other areas.
He also would not discuss pay, except to say that Boeing offers fair compensation based on the market.
Boeing already employs about 900 workers locally, while the neighboring Global Aeronautica plant employs about 1,600 workers.
The new Boeing facility will need engineering positions such as assembly mechanics and quality inspectors, in addition to administrative staff. Company officials couldn't provide an exact employee breakdown Wednesday.
Future employees likely will follow the screening, training and hiring process set up for Boeing and Global Aeronautica's existing facility through the state's ReadySC program. Through an agreement with those companies, the program's job screeners recruit applicants for opportunities that are posted at www.sctechjobs.com.
Applicants are evaluated based on their experience and using standard hiring programs like WorkKeys, a work skills assessment program. Those who are chosen undergo a six- to eight-week training program at Trident Technical College before starting the company's training program.
That training program has graduated roughly 1,400 workers for the two companies since the training system began in 2006.

Pizza Man: And where would you like them delivered?

XXXXXXX vanity plate big hit — with tickets

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - "Racer X's" vanity plate just does not compute in city computers, causing him to rack up about $19,000 in tickets.

Scottie Roberson bought a vanity plate with seven X's to pay homage to his racer nickname. But that causes a bit of a snafu when parking patrols put the plate into the system. Officials usually put seven X's in place of the number for cars without license plates.

Roberson says the mix-up has led him to get as many as 10 tickets in a day.

Hulk Hogan Returns To The Ring!

Hogan is all signed up to be a wrestler for TNA Wrestling, the new wrestling organization created by beefcake cable network giant Spike TV.

Hogan is "thrilled" to be joining TNA, according to a statement the former WWE wrestler released.

He says:

"My fans have been asking me to return to the business for many years on a full time basis, but the timing or the opportunity has never been right until now. TNA Wrestling is a great company with an already excellent fan base and business. I firmly believe now is the time for TNA to jump to the next level in their development and I’m here to help make that a reality."

Don't know if you've heard the story behind the picture on the piece of flair. Louie Giglio was at a conference, and a man came up to him and they started talking. Giglio confided to the man that he wanted to find something new and different to talk about in his conferences, and the man suggested to him that he talk about "laminin". The man was a scientist. Giglio had no idea what the man was talking about, so the man told him to look it up on google. Laminin is the molecule that holds our bodies together. It's in the shape of a cross. Just as Christ holds the Body of Christ together. Isn't that cool??

Just another Marvelous Monday....

Today is Monday. The first day of the workweek. Usually, people think that Monday is an awful day. There is no light at the end of the tunnel on Monday. It's just the beginning of a loooong week, and all you want to do is crawl back in the bed and sleep the day away. Today is one of those kind of Mondays. The weather in Charleston this morning doesn't help at all either. It's rainy....the temperature outside is in the 60's....it's just a good lazy day......
But we're going to change that. We want today to be marvelous. Instead of complaining about how we don't want to do the things we have to do today, we should do those things with a joyful heart. Hey, you were able to wake up this morning, right? Life is amazing! Put your day into a new perspective. Instead of getting annoyed with certain tasks today (we are all guilty of this), why don't you complete that task as efficiently as you can, and have a happy heart? I'm sure after reading all this so far, you now have "Whistle While You Work" in your head. :-)

Well, for starters, our station was not on the air this morning due to technical difficulties, but that should be fixed now, and we apologize for not having some really awesome music on the radio for you. Apparently, President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. There's some controversy going on about whether he deserves it or not. Plus, people are arguing that it's too soon for him to win it as a president, since he's only been in office for a few months. NASA is going to shoot a rocket into the moon in search of water....uh-huh.....

Hey Everyone,

So today is the first day of our Pledge Drive, our goal is 300 people at 10 dollars a month and we feel God will bless us!!

I just want to share how WayFm has impacted my life.... I became a Christian at age 11, I wanted to grow in Lord, I found that I had a love for Christian music so I plugged into a radio station, well I found myself getting board with the music and entertainment because it was repetitive and didn't talk about everyday things that happen in real life... I found myself switching the dial, tuning into secular music, it wasn't until I found 100.9 WayFm did I stop switching the dial... I am so interested in the radio personalities and what they speak of, it's not just talking about what their kids have done that morning ( not that I'm not interested) it's talking about life and giving a biblical persepective to worldly situations... The music keeps me motivated and on track for the day, also as I just listen I'm actually memorizing the songs, so whats going into my head is positive and always a constant about Jesus....

I want to know how WayFm has impacted your life???

Wassup???? So, See You At The Pole took place. Did you participate in it? Most students around the country did, even at college campuses. It's amazing to think that on one day a year, in one hour, a ton of students come together to pray for their school, city, state, and country. It's one of those "wow, this is so amazing and I feel so united with other Christians, and Heaven is going to be so awesome if it's better than this" kind of moments... If you have any of those moments, please feel free to share them!

Here's a "Wow!" story for you. Recently, a student at Western Carolina University actually owed the college about $5,100 in tuition fees because of a mix up in his financial aid. Apparently, he had to pay that money to the school in one day, or he had to leave the school. A campus minister at the school that this student had become friends with found out about the debt this student owed and decided to take matters into his own hands. He got on facebook and his blog and asked everyone he could think of for prayer and donations. The donations came quickly and in no time, there was enough money for the debt to be paid. The campus minister relates to the student's debt being paid like Jesus paid for our debts. After the campus minister found the student at a bus stop and convinced him to come back to the school, the student in turn gave a pair of his shoes to a homeless man at the bus stop. It is so amazing and encouraging how some people will act swiftly for the good of others. Hurricane Hugo and Jonny Diaz

So, today marks the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Hugo. The massive, category 5 hurricane killed 109 people and left 100,000 people homeless. On our facebook page, we asked everyone what their story was, and how Hurricane Hugo affected them. Some people had a lot of damage done to their homes, others did not. One person's story is that she and her family evacuated to Charlotte, NC, and when they arrived back to their home, there was a tree in every room of the house except hers. One man told how the Lord had provided a new home in Mt. Pleasant for him and his family after their mobile home was flipped over. Some people weren't even born yet, but told their family's stories. One woman recalled how she hid in a closet under the stairs of her house, while her husband paced around. They had some water damage and the shingles of their roof were ripped off. Even though there were hard times for many, many people after Hurricane Hugo hit, one thing remains true, and that is that our God is amazing and faithful and He will take care of us in His own way, no matter what. Today, I also feel compelled to talk about Jonny Diaz's song "More Beautiful You". The song is already one of my personal favorites, but the words became very true to me this morning. The subject of females (of all ages) feeling beautiful has always been a difficult barrier. ALL women want to feel even just a little beautiful, whether they admit it or not. I've started working out to lose weight, not just because I want to be healthier, but also because I want to feel more beautiful. I was walking in a breezeway this morning, and I was about to pass by a girl, but then I watched as she looked at her reflection in the glass wall, and smoothed down her shirt. She studied herself, and measured her waist with her hands, and tried to suck in a little bit so she could flatten her stomach. As soon as she started walking again, the chorus of "More Beautiful You" popped in my head. I recalled all the times that I've looked in the mirror, tried on 3 different outfits, tried to fix my hair 5 times, put on my makeup, and just stared at myself pondering what I could do to make myself look "better". Just walk around a mall and you'll see it. Girls looking at themselves in store windows, girls looking at makeup in department stores, and girls studying the display windows, memorizing what kind of clothing is in and what kind of clothing is out. Females of various ages think that outward beauty is the most important. But Jonny Diaz argues with that concept, saying that "you were made to fill a purpose that only YOU could do; there could never be a more beautiful you". So, I challenge any female reading this blog to remember that there could never be a more beautiful YOU. Remember, God formed you in His image, and it's perfect. I also want to challenge the males reading this blog to encourage any female you know of that is struggling with her self-image. It boosts women's confidence way up when a male tells her she is beautiful.

September 11, 2001 is a day we will always remember. It's almost hard to believe that it was eight years ago. On our facebook page, we asked everyone what they were doing and how they felt when they heard about the attacks that day. There are a good many replies. A few people recounted how they were at work, watching the television. A woman was sent home early from work, so she and her co-workers could be with their families. Another person was traveling and listening to a book on tape, and didn't even know what was going on until she stopped for gas. One woman remembers that she was on the phone with a credit card company and the man on the other line stopped what he was doing and asked her if she knew what was going on. When she replied no, he told her to hang up the phone and turn on the news. She says that when she did, she was screaming "My God!" and sobbing uncontrollably. Where were you on September 11, 2001? I remember that I was in history class, and the principal of our school came over the intercom and announced what was going on. It was hard for us to understand what happened because my school didn't have televisions, so we couldn't watch what was happening. Our teachers were allowed to take turns going to their homes for about an hour each. Classes changed, but we never actually had class. Each teacher did their best to explain what was going on and why it was happening, instead of teaching us our usual school subjects. Finally, our principal called an assembly in the gymansium, and explained what was going on. School was over for the rest of the day, and I remember going home, immediately turning on the tv, and crying as I watched the videos replay of the planes hitting the World Trade Center towers.

We all have our stories of what we felt. Shock, disbelief, confusion, heartbreak, anger, feeling like someone punched us in the stomach. Let us also not forget those who died at the Pentagon and the brave men who took down the plane in Pennsylvania. The main thing I want to help you remember is forgiveness. Most everyone will always remember and respect what happened, but forgiveness plays a huge role in healing as well. Think of the families who were majorly affected by what happened. God wants us to forgive others and to love our enemy. As hard as that sounds, it's what He commands. But, with God as our strength, we can do it. So, that's the challenge to you. You are challenged to not only forgive the people who planned the attacks on our country, but you are also challenged to forgive the enemies you come in contact with on a daily basis.

When things don't make SENSE

Have you ever had a day when it seemed things just didn't make sense? Things didn't line up the way you thought they were supposed to and you don't know why??

Yesterday was my day... I prayed throughout the day, I trust Jesus, I trust that God is in control and that I didn't need to mess up the plans he has for me, so I let all of my frustrations and questions in his hands.

Later I had to thank him, he had been preparing me all day for an event which took place that night, it would shake my world. Still, the event in my life is fresh to me, God knew what was going to happen, and he made sure I was prepared!!!

How wonderful is HE?? This is one of many events in my life I can look back and say God was there and he prepared me!!

IS there anyone out there who is going through some stuff or has a uplifting experience they would like to share?

Hello beautiful Way-fmers! It's your boy, former intern yet intern by heart, Chris!!! I told y'all I would be giving you an all exclusive look into my world in Palm Beach Atlantic University. My first week was super amazing. I have begun to see the Lord working through my life...I know I should be here. The second day I was here, I joined all the newbies in the chapel for some worship. They played You won't relent and take it all!!!! So cool! I choreographed a dance for my fish group...orientation group (the mascot is the sail fish...I needed to wear a gilligan hat for a whole week that had my name on it...I guess that's Christian hazing :P) I also chugged a coke through some nylons, haha! I capped off welcome week with a feet washing ceremony that has really made an impact on my life. Seeing the person who I washed around campus brings back a real sense of vulnerability...made me think...Jesus made himself that vulnerable to us!
After welcome week, dreaded classes started:( I like them though :) A major theme that is being brought up so far is this whole idea that the events of the Bible, the events of history, and the events of my life are interconnected...It's one whole story! Speaking of, the writer whoe changed my life, Francis Chan...Crazy Love anyone...whoop whoop...is coming in two weeks!!!! I got a job working at the front desk at an all guys residence hall! I rly like it! I have a feeling that things are going to get interesting, just seeing how the people I meet in the front desk will impacy me as well as vice versa!

Yesterday was also super amazing! The Robbie Seay band as well as Jaimie from To Write Love on Her Arms came by for a night of worship and conversation. For those that do not know, To Write Love is an organization to help people dealing with depression, suicide, and cutting! I can hear laughs when he mentions their organization is not only for emos....haha...I can totally relate. I dealt with depression and I am happy all the time. Sometimes I feel like its as dangerous if not more for people who you can not read! It was definitely emotional as people stood up with their emotions and stories!

I also got my first assignment for The Beacon school newspaper yesterday! I'll keep you posted on that in the days to come! I will leave y'all with Robbie Seay's "Song of Hope"

Florist keeps getting car calls. yeah, supposedly a GM toll free number is identical to that of a Florist shop in Chicago. The shop is complaining that the phone calls are dampering business. I wonder how the conversations went, "Hello, 1-800-flowers." "I have a really bad car." "Okay, what kind of flowers would you like?" "I don't need flowers, I need a new ride." "Okay, thats good sir, but we are a flower store." "This isn't 1-800-clunkers?" "Well, if you want to bring your car by, I'm sure we can see what we can do." Sounds like a scam to me...It's a howl:NYC artist compiles album of screams. Yeah, 74 brief howls, whoops, and cries for $15. Sounds like an Adam Lambert album...1,224-pound cupcake sets record as world's largest. Yeah, we cover the BIG stories. The coverage on oversized baked goods just makes me chuckle. With all the poverty in the world, someone can spend 12 hours baking a cupcake that has 800 eggs and 200 pounds of sugar. Makes me think, can money be used elsewhere...yeah!!!!

The Top 5 Christian Songs may give you a Deja Vu sensation, but they are just stuck in the same spots with Phillips, Craig, and Dean's Revelation Song holding on to the top position; Matthew West's The Motions, Jonny Diaz's More Beautiful You, and Tenth Avenue North's By Your Side filling in the middle, and Brandon Heath's Wait and See coming in at number five!

An album sure to crack the top five next week is Britt Nicole's The Lost Get Found, the subject of today's Album Spotlight. According to her website, the album is full of "high energy tracks, catchy hooks, and top 40 beats." In her own words, Britt says the album is "simply about being who we are called to be as Christians, and through that, seeing the lost get found." The album's first single of the same name has been blowing up radio, especially Way-FM! The album definitely promises to be a poppy record. The Lost Get Found hits stores tomorrow!

In honor of Britt Nicole, we are giving her the first tweet in Talk'n Tweets. She tweets, "Vbbbbbbbrbbrbnttngn f gn gg g. Gtg ng NGO." She later denies writing the tweet. From what I can decipher, gtg means got to go, and NGO is referencing that Bingo was his name-o. For some reason, I think Sanders is reading too much New Moon. Yup, my friends, that is Relient K's Matthew Thiessen! I can't wait to hear that track...Might I add a personal note to Twitter: please don't have anymore shut downs or crashes. I sat in my room wondering what Mondays would be without my tweets...glad they fixed it @_@

In general music news, Relient K announced on their website that the are going on tour with Copeland and Barcelona, two acts that I absolutely love. I have featured Copeland on my Playlist for the past two weeks. The show hits Charlotte October 9. Should be amazing...I found a sweet website with all things Christian video. It's like a Christian music Youtube. The woman says the college promised her that they would help her get a job after college. Well, they offered to help. Not give her one. I find this lady to be awfully selfish with all the OTHER in debt college students without jobs. I say, forget about lawsuits and attempt a Masters degree...Paula Abdul is leaving American Idol. Yesterday, Paula announced via Twitter that she will not be returning to American Idol, the show, she claims, she help make into a phenomenon. There is a lot of speculation about why, but the prominent reason deals with failed attempts to raise her pay from 5 million to 20 million dollars. She said she will miss inspiring the contestants. First off, if you were so focused on being an inspiration, money wouldn't be an issue. Secondly, with people struggling to find jobs, do you think asking for 20 mil to just act like a crazy person and tell people they are good all the time when they are not is legit? And, in regards to creating a phenomenon, two words Paula: SIMON COWELL...Last week, I told you about the new additions to the Webster Collegiate Dictionary. This week, UCLA came out with the sixth edition of their slang dictionary. Words in this one...skrilla, Epic Fail, and Awkward Turtle. Used in a sentence: Paula's attempt at getting more skrilla fo being an awkward turtle on idol was an epic fail. Making slang collegiate just reminds me of the ebonics woman on Airplane. It's like when grandma started using bling, and mama started dancing the "Soldier Boy." Some things need to remain on urbandictionary.com...An Ohio family family visits 52 zoos in 52 weeks. Hey y'all! It's 2esday, and, today, we are getting hard hitting! 2day's 2sday Topic branches off a something Brant was discussing on his show yesterday...God's audible voice. What does it mean when we say God talks to us? Is it a voice, a feeling, or does he even speak? Personally, I believe God can audibly speak to his people. He's God...hello! But, I also feel he speaks to us by coincidences, testimonies, and urges. When I decide not to do something because I get an overwhelming feeling against it, I know it is God. I'm not saying that God reveals himself in humanities trivial pursuits. So, I say, God speaks audibly, doesn't speak, and speaks through feelings, events, and other people. Like a parent, God leaves us to make our own decisions but points us in certain directions by speaking to us. That is what I think, but I'll leave the rest for Thursday...here's what YOU have to say:

We were looking at the 2nd house that this landlord had to show us and decided to take it, gave a deposit and as we were leaving I said to God "I hope we've made the right decision. I will like to shed an Album Spotlight on this week's number 1 album, Constellations by August Burns Red. The album is the band's third studio album, and, according to fans of the band, it synthesizes the sounds from the band's proceeding records, Thrill Seeker and Messenger. Constellations is a metalcore album made by Christians...not necessarily a Christian record. Guitarist JB Brubaker stresses "Christianity is religion and not a style of music." The music definitely speaks to some Christian ideas, but the band wants the music to speak for itself, not market it solely to Christians and keep it in a box. August Burns Red will be discontinuing their US tour next week but will be continuing their metalcore tour in Austarlia! G'Day :P The album Contellations is in stores now!

Finally, we are Talk'n Tweets...so, what is making Lauren Barlow Tweet, "Oh...my...gosh...what is that thing?! Personally, I think it needs to be given a proper burial and fast." Well, this picture:

Thoughts 4 Thursday with Intern Chris

So it's another Thursday and, let me just say, this week has flown by. My life has been chalk full of things to do; I've definitely kept busy. I had my interview this past Tuesday for Family Christian Store and...I think it went REALLY well. That being said, I haven't gotten a phone call yet. They said they would call me yesterday, and they never did. So I'm in one of those waiting periods between jobs. I'm blessed though! God has given me this opportunity as an intern, and, eventhough I don't get paid, I'm getting a chance to do what I like to do and have this experience. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of new college expenses building up that I need that money, but I'm trusting that God will lead the way in that.
I signed my very first primissory note for college yesterday...that's basically my loan agreement! Some backstory: I went to UNC with a debt free education ahead of me. They have a Carolina Covenant Program that allows underprivledged kids (ME) the opportunity to not be bogged down by debt. I live in a debt family so this seemed like the best option, but, it wasn't necessarily where my heart was at. Fast forward through my freshmen year, I got involved with a toxic group of people and put my relationship with God on the backburner. Part of that had to deal with feelings of condemnation...I messed up so much that I felt God had just given up on me. I started going around with the feeling that if I digged my hole the only thing to do was dig it deeper. But, after finding a church and feeling deep down that God had so much love for me, I started climbing up that hole. I got baptized and decided to dedicate my life to Christ....I remember my last day at Carolina. I looked across my patio at the arrangment of trees and felt that this chapter was closing, eventhough I had planned to come back. After I talked with some people and decided that I wanted to follow God with my whole heart, I thought it would be best pursued at a Christian college. This meant giving up a debt free education and accepting debt. But, in trueness, I'm starting to believe that focusing on my treasures in this world didn't make me fulfilled and that I'm starting to store my treasure elsewhere...it's a good feeling.
With this adventure to PBA ahead of me, I am going back to Chapel Hill tomorrow to pick up storage I left there, drive back around, and not look back...The trip is bittersweet. Not all my Chapel Hill experience was bad. I'm going to miss those friendships. Freshmen year is such a strong year because everyone is on the same boat as you...first year alone, now what!!!! I also feel conflicted: did I flee from temptation or run away from opportunity??? Am I fleeing temptation and running toward ignorance...this I fear most. a lot of friendships made were not necessarily with Christians. I want/need more Christian friends, yet I don't want to feel that is all i need. God wants us to love everyone. I feel stuck. How can I love those that brought me to a place of darkness and remind me of that place? Thinking about this now, I'm starting to see the need to go to Palm Beach...to meditate on this very thing in a Christian environment...to become strong enough to face my past. In this, I am still learning.

It's Wednesday, and, as always, we are seeing what is going on in y'alls youth groups, the community, and THE WORRLLDDD! But, before we get into the things happening in the Lowcountry, let's see what's goin on @ Way! Yesterday, we had a fantastic time watching Veggie Tales with y'all! Thanks for coming out. Unfortunately, we are lacking pictures from the event and would really like some (Bret took some with his phone, but who knows how those would turn out :P) So, if you are friends with us on facebook, tag us in your favorite pics from the event! In Utah this past Sunday, a young boy, let's say 7 years old, decided he didn't want to go to church. So, he kinda sorta took the family van for a joy ride. What I find surprising is the fact that he did not get hit, and the only reason he was caught was because he sped pass a stop sign. My questions: who taught this kid how to drive? Now, if I remember correctly, I made a list last week of some pretty cool books to check out! But, I must say, having been the person who can't sit around staring at pages for more than thirty minutes, getting comfortable on your couch as popcorn pops in the microwave watching an entertaining movie is not a bad way to pass the time on a hot summer day. So, I just want to point out that some of these movies aren't Christian oriented, but some of y'all found them entertaining...So before you go out and rent some of these movies, I'd suggest researching them as well as checking those all so necessary ratings! That being said, I'd like to focus in on Fireproof, a film getting a lot of attention in the Christian world as of late. Fireproof is about the struggles of marriage and weathering those storms. The story revolves around a fire fighter and his wife who are considering divorce due to the husband's inability to put his wife before himself. As their lives crash, he receives a book that changes everything. The tag line of the film is the code of firefighting : Never leave your partner behind! What a coincidence...it fits the idea of marriage as well! Now, I found the movie quite inspirational. I shed a tear or two when parallels were drawn between human relationships and the relationships we have with God as well as during moments when Kirk becomes a hero to his wife. That being said, I can only give this film a 3/5 for excessive over and underacting, failed attempts at jokes, and failed attempts at action sequences. The movie kinda turns into a walking cliche at times from a movie standpoint, but, from a religious standpoint, it provides a much needed message. But, as always, don't take my word for it...here's what YOU are saying:

Coffee brewed...9AM Traffic...Way-FM morning meeting...must be Monday!!!!!! And, as always, we are bringing you the latest in Christian Music! And that's what's going on @ Way, let's Chat about the Charts...and let me just tell you, I am pretty shocked :O First off, chart favorite Mary Mary has fallen to number 3 with The Sound, bumping Tenth Avenue North's Over and Underneath to number 4 and Matt Kearney's City of Black and White to number 5.The latest from August Burns Red ( Constellations) debuted at number 2! So, who took the top spot? A band called pureNRG??? Akin to acts like Hanson, Hannah Montanna, and The Wiggles, this bubblegum troop's mission is to spread the word of God to young adults...musically, they're work is sub par compared to the others on this week's chart, but, it just goes to show, America has an obsession with "Disney Bands" :P Over on the Christian Song charts, Matthew West's The Motions and Phillips, Craig and Dean's Revelation Song still hold the top spots! This week's Greatest Gainer is Jonny Diaz's More Beautiful You, rising from number 5 to number 3. Tenth Avenue North's By Your Side falls to number 4 while Brandon Heath's Wait and See cracks the top five rounding up the charts!

There seems to be a lack of new releases THIS week, so today's Album Spotlight is about an album coming out August 11 from Philips, Craig, and Dean. The album is called Fearless, and it marks Phillips, Craig, and Dean's tenth studio album. Branching from three different churches, the guys are back with a worship filled album that draws it's sound from contemporary acts like Natalie Grant and Casting Crowns. Even though they come from three separate churches, the men of Philips, Craig and Dean have heard similar stories of worry regarding health care, the economy and security risks. This album is way of delivering the universal message that God wants us to be fearless. Luke 12:25 says, "who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life." Randy Phillips wants to urge people to break out and live large, saying, "This is our opportunity to show our power is in God alone". The album Fearless comes out in two weeks!

When we put hunting, breakfast, and Superman in the same sentence...we must be Talk'n Tweets! On today's edition, the guys of December Radio are hunting @ black river in SC.I'm sure they found the trip rather satisfying...Barlow Girl never disappoints with their tweets. Last week, Lauren was Mick Jagger. This week, Rebecca is Clark Kent. Next week, Alyssa is slated to transform into Mickey Mouse as the group slowly becomes the Barlow Oddities...Conrad of Chris and Conrad fame was accidentally knocked off the interstate by "an old man!" It was later revealed to be this guy:
